What is Falls Prevention Therapy?
This is a series of assessments and exercise sessions specifically for people who have had a hospital admission due to a fall and who would benefit from an individual therapy plan. A fall can have serious consequences including injury, pain, loss of independence, and reduced confidence to go out in the community.
Falls Prevention Therapy is directly supported by a Physiotherapist and Allied Health Assistant. Each person receives their own personal exercise program, and is encouraged to keep this up at home. A Key Worker (Registered Nurse) also organises a range of assessments in your own home with the aim to reduce risk of further falls.
- To improve your balance, strength and flexibility
