2017 Benalla White Ribbon Day March Against Violence
The 8th annual White Ribbon “Benalla March Against Violence” was successfully held on Thursday, November 23. The march commenced at the corner of Carrier Street and Bridge Street with VicRoads and Victoria Police coordinating to close the main street for the duration of the march. With over 700 people in attendance for the 2nd year in a row this was the most successful march we have held.
Benalla Health and a community organising committee coordinated this event. After the march, there were speeches by a local professional impacted by family violence and a White Ribbon Youth Ambassador. All participants were encouraged to recite and sign the White Ribbon Oath to Stand Up, Speak Out and Act to Prevent Men's Violence Against Women.
Highlights of the march and our two outstanding speakers can be viewed online with Video highlights of the March.
