2016 Regional Consumer Advisory Committee Forum
It is a pleasure to welcome you to our web page dedicated to the first Regional Health Services Consumer Advisory Committee Forum held in Victoria on Tuesday 29th November, 2016.
This innovative approach to consumer engagement and participation was first proposed to the Department of Health and Human Services by the members of Benalla Health, Cultural Diversity and Consumer Committee as a way of bringing together the various Consumer Advisory Committees established at each health service in the region.
Through the support of the Hume Chronic Care Steering Committee, who helped fund this event, we have been able to bring this forum to you. We hope that our range of speakers and the “Speed Dating” session that will follow, will allow each Committee and health service to meet the goals we have established. These include: that existing Consumer Advisory Committees (CAC) feel valued, heard and ideas actioned; provide network opportunities for CAC members; build skills within each CAC; help them improve engagement with their community; assist health services in establishing a CAC in their own service and finally explore the value of establishing a regional advisory CAC.
I want to specifically thank those members of the volunteers on the steering committee from Benalla Health, Alpine Health, Goulburn Valley Health, Upper Murray Health and Community Services, Albury Wodonga Health and Numurkah District Health Service. Without their contributions, this forum would not be possible.
