Annual appeal under way
Donation envelopes seeking the public’s support for Benalla Health’s Annual Appeal will hit letterboxes in Benalla from May 1.
Chief Executive Officer Janine Holland said the Annual Appeal had enjoyed strong community support in the past and this is sincerely appreciated.
“Each year, we hold the appeal to raise much-needed funds for the health service,” she said.
“The funds this year will again go towards refurbishing the A.L. Berry Centre, which provides important inpatient and community-based rehabilitation services to a large number of Benalla and district residents.
“The centre provides high calibre services such as physiotherapy and day activities and these programs are vital to the continued wellbeing of people living in our community.”
Ms Holland said that work had already begun on modernising the A.L. Berry Centre to transform it into a contemporary Community Rehabilitation Centre. Current services have been relocated in the short-term.
“We are currently providing our physiotherapy services from the Benalla Community Care - Ray Sweeney Centre and day activities program will be running from the Benalla Gliding Club, Samaria Rd Benalla for the duration of the works,” she said.
“We have planned for the works to be completed by the end of October and the Annual Appeal will assist us to continue to provide the most up-to-date equipment to our community, who we are privileged to serve.”
The envelopes provide information about cheque donations, which can be posted back in the reply-paid envelope, or dropped off at Benalla Health.
Online donations can be made at benallahealth.org.au via credit card.
Donations of $2 or more are tax-deductible.
