Breasfeeding Support Service

The Breastfeeding Support Service is a free service that offers support and advice for Breastfeeding mothers and their babies. We also offer Antenatal Consultation for women with breastfeeding concerns, previous challenges or advice around antenatal expressing.
The Service is staffed by an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant and supported by the World Health Organisation and UNICEF International Breastfeeding Guidelines.

Referrals

Can be made by:

  • Self or Family 
  • General Practitioners
  • Maternal and Child 
  • Health Nurses
  • Paediatricians
  • Midwives
  • Obstetricians
  • Other Hospitals

Appointments

The service is provided weekly on a Wednesday.
Appointments and enquiries can be made by contacting the Maternity Ward on (03) 5761 4749 24hrs/day 7 days/week.

Facilities

The Breastfeeding Support Service is located in the Maternity Ward of the Hospital.

What you need to bring
 
  • Child Health Record Book
  • Nappies and change of clothes for baby
  • Pram or car seat
