Janine has more than 38 years’ experience in the health industry as a clinician (20 years) and health administrator (18 years). Most of her career has been spent in the rural sector working across acute, sub-acute, community and aged care programs.
She has worked in acute health services and community health centres as well as in the Department of Health and Human Services.
The Chief Executive Officer is responsible for implementing the strategic direction of Benalla Health as determined by the Board of Management and operationally implements the decisions, resolutions and directions of the Board.
Simultaneously the CEO ensures that Benalla Health observes and complies with the requirements of relevant Federal and State legislation, Health Service By-Laws and the directions of the Victorian Department of Health & Human Services. Additionally, the CEO exercises the powers delegated by the Board to administer and direct as appropriate the activities of Benalla Health whilst effectively managing quality and risk to ensure that the community has access to high calibre health services. The CEO is at all times committed to promoting Benalla Health in the communities it serves.
Dr Sue Wilson
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF CLINICAL SERVICES

Sue is a very experienced clinician, educator and nurse manager.
During her career she has held senior roles within the hospital, health and aged care sector with clinical and education/research positions.
She has a wide range of outstanding professional achievements including being the recipient of the Stewart Fraser Award for Exemplary PhD Thesis; Elizabeth Crowther Prize for Clinical Excellence in Psychiatric Nursing; WB Richardson Award for Excellence in Nursing; and the Tanner Gold Medal for Academic Excellence.
A servant leader who leads by listening, Sue is absolutely committed to inspiring, energising and facilitating relationships with staff and service providers.

Andrew Nitschke
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF FINANCE & CORPORATE SERVICES
BBus (Accounting), CPA, MBA, GAICD
As the Executive Director of Finance & Corporate Services (EDF&CS), Andrew is responsible for the finance and administration, ICT, health information, supply, linen and hospitality departments.
He also provides leadership in the management of financial and corporate support services.
Andrew joined Benalla Health in 2016 and has a diverse finance background. This includes working for the not for profit aged care sector for 11 years and in public health at both Mansfield and Seymour hospitals. This has given him a solid understanding of the pressures which face health services and the innovations they need to introduce to be resilient and best serve their communities.

Dr Campbell Miller
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF MEDICAL SERVICES

As Executive Director of Medical Services Dr Miller ensures all visiting medical officers are credentialed and have appropriate clinician privileges for the organisation.
The EDMS role involves liaison with visiting specialist and GP doctors as well as the provision of senior medical administrative support, advice and guidance to staff on clinical governance, medical service, clinical quality and medico-legal matters.

Heather Betts: Operational Director Healthy Communities
Heather grew up in Melbourne and moved to Wangaratta when she was 15 years old, completing her schooling there. She then completed her general nursing training at Northeast Health Wangaratta.
She has had a long and successful career in nursing, maternal and child health, social work, diversity and ageing. Her work has included clinical and management roles in the health sector and local government.
Heather joined Benalla Health in 2018 and she now leads a range of innovative community health programs, supported by interdisciplinary teams inclusive of nurses, dieticians, physiotherapists, speech therapists, podiatrists and occupational therapists.

Leanne Daldy: Operational Director Human Resources
Leanne has extensive experience in the health industry and as a human resource professional. Her knowledge base comes from a variety of experiences, both in private and public sector organisations.
Leanne is also a nationally accredited mediator and has worked in this area for several years. She is passionate about people, change and engagement in the pursuit of excellence.
She is proud to serve her community and has pride in our team’s ability to meet and adapt to our community’s needs with a true sense of kindness, respect and empathy.

Anne-Marie Kerr: Operational Director Performance Improvement
Anne-Marie is responsible for leading patient safety, quality of care, risk and education.
She was born in Benalla and has moved back to be closer to her family after spending many years working in outback Australia.
She is a trained nurse and midwife and for the past 20 years, has been based in Far North Queensland, where she worked primarily with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, providing primary health care services and working with the Royal Flying Doctor Service on medical retrievals.
Anne-Marie’s major focus at Benalla Health will be on helping to continue the work on patient safety and quality of care.
Lisa Pryor: Operational Director Continuum of Care
Lisa is operationally responsible for the acute care, midwifery, Urgent Care Centre, Morrie Evans Wing (MEW) theatre and day procedure units. Lisa is a registered nurse and midwife and has lengthy experience in rural and regional health.
She says that the move to Benalla Health from Beechworth Health Service was prompted by the service’s excellent reputation for providing quality care, as well as the opportunity to further enhance her skills.
Lisa has held a number of nursing positions in health services and says her focus at Benalla Health will be on working with staff and consumers on providing quality, safe healthcare for all.
