Young volunteers make difference

Young volunteers are making a difference to patients and clients at Benalla Health. Volunteer coordinator Rosemary Teasdale said that while many of her volunteers were retired, more young people were realising the benefits of giving their time.

Rock and Water Program

The Rock and Water Program for women and girls aims to teach basic self-defence skills, to help participants to become aware of emotions and reaction patterns, to experience body strength and learn to trust your own strength, to increase self-confidence and to use mental strength and positive self talk.

Garden bed project growing in stature

The success of Benalla’s wicking garden bed project is growing in more ways than one. The project is a joint initiative of Benalla Health, St Vincent de Paul’s Society Benalla and Beechworth Correctional Centre. It aims to reduce the reliance on emergency food relief, improve community connectivity and increase people’s knowledge, confidence and skills to grow their own food at home.
