What we do
The main role of the pharmacy is to ensure safe, effective, and appropriate use of medications.
We offer range of services that include:
- Medication reconciliation on admission and discharge
- Review medication charts (including high-risk medications) to prevent or minimise side-effects and drug interactions
- Work collaboratively with medical team to ensure safe medication practice
- Provide education and information on medications to patients and families
- Liaise with your local community pharmacy at discharge for medication administration devices (eg. Webster packs) and with any changes to your medication regimens
- Educate and train under-graduate pharmacy students from various Universities
- Clinical services in the Urgent Care Centre (UCC)
- Support aged care facility linked with hospital
- Provide safe and efficient drug distribution system
- Education sessions on Pulmonary Rehabilitation and Cardiac Rehabilitation

What do I need to bring when I go to hospital?
- Your current medications in original packaging. Include inhalers, vitamins, supplements, patches, eye drops, insulin etc
- Your updated medications list
- Your allergy history
Do I need to pay for medications in hospital?
No, you do not need to pay for medications supplied during hospital admission.
Can I get my medications dispensed on discharge?
No. When you are discharged from the hospital your doctor will write a prescription which can be dispensed at your community pharmacy.
