Annual appeal launched

BENALLA Health is again asking the community to show its generosity as its Annual Appeal kicks off.

Envelopes and donation forms inside an information brochure will appear in letterboxes from early May.
Benalla Health Chair Louise Armstrong said the community had shown great support over a number of years to the appeal and she hoped this year, people would again be able to donate.
“We extend our heartfelt thanks to the community for its ongoing support of our Annual Appeal,”Ms Armstrong said.
“Our previous appeals have provided significant contributions towards the purchase of equipment such as  the patient monitoring systems, defibrillators, a community bus, upgrade and refurbishment of our Urgent Care Centre, refurbishment of the Morrie Evans Wing, a new birthing bed for our Midwifery Unit and an instrument washer for theatre.
“Last year, thanks to your generosity, we were able to open our new Community Rehabilitation Centre.
“The redeveloped A.L. Berry Centre was the beneficiary of donations from 2016 and 2017 and, now opened, is a fine asset to the community and hospital.
“We thank all those who gave to the appeal over the years to help this become a reality.
“We are utilising the new facility for cardiac, pulmonary and orthopaedic rehabilitation, as well as balance, strength and endurance groups and we hope it will continue to be a hub for our community.
“The Benalla community has a long and proud tradition of supporting its health service, ensuring it has the most up-to-date equipment and services. This year, we will be looking at using the appeal funds for fitting out the A.L. Berry Centre, as well as increasing security for our staff.
“We understand it is difficult for many in the community to support all appeals, however for those who are able, our Annual Appeal provides an opportunity to contribute to the ongoing success of your local health service and we would like to remind people that donations of $2 or more are tax-deductible.”
Donations to the appeal can be made by filling out the form that comes with an envelope and posting it back to the hospital, or filling out the form on this page and dropping it into the hospital with the details filled out.
