Saying thanks to our volunteers
Benalla Health’s valued volunteers will be recognised at a special morning tea next week.

The event is part of Benalla Health’s Volunteer Appreciation Day, which forms part of National Volunteer Week.
Chief Executive Officer Janine Holland said this year’s recognition of volunteers would take place at the Michael Long Education Centre at 10am on Wednesday, 23 May.
“This year’s morning tea will be particularly special as it coincides with Palliative Care Week, an area where many of Benalla Health’s volunteers gave their time,” Ms Holland said.
“This year’s theme is Give a Little Change A Lot and we will take this opportunity to express our gratitude and appreciation to each of our volunteers who have supported our clients both in palliative care and throughout the hospital.
“Our volunteers’ compassion and community spirit make an enormous difference to the people they support.”
Long-standing volunteer Patrick Richards will also be presented with his 10-year badge.
Mr Richards has worked in many areas of Benalla Health, making the lives of clients happier and offering friendship in the Morrie Evans Wing, acute ward and day activities area.
As well, long-serving volunteers Julia O’Brien (20 years), Dorothy Meagher (27 years) and John Long (15 years) will be presented with a Benalla Health pen.
Guest speaker for this year is Kerry Patford, who is a breast care nurse with the McGrath Foundation.
Certificates and badges will be presented by Ms Holland and the Board Chair, Louise Armstrong, who will also speak at the event.
